Rosary Society Fills Treat Bags for Family Promise

All of the Rosarian members went "Trick or Treating" filling 40 Halloween bags for children that participate in the Family Promise Programs in Montclair.

The Parish Center tables were filled with treats supplied by each of the Rosarians, which included the bags, juice boxes, fruit cups, fruit snacks, pencils, pens, and an assortment of candy.

The Family Promise team was very grateful and excited to receive the treats. Thank you to all of the Rosarians who made this possible.

RCIA Sunday, October 2nd

Today we began our travels in faith toward the Easter Vigil and adult baptisms and Pentecost and adult confirmations.

The RCIA is a walk we take together in which all seek to know Jesus Christ. It is very good company. It is with good reason the RCIA identifies greatly with “The Road to Emmaus”, (Luke 24:13-35). St Luke recounts that story of two followers of Jesus’ who after the tragic events of Good Friday, travel away from Jerusalem, downcast and brokenhearted. So much so, that they do not recognize Jesus when he begins to walk with them.

While the three talk, Jesus points out to them that the terrible things that happened are not the end of the story. Have faith! Finally, the disciples meet Christ in the Eucharist and return with their hearts on fire to their fellow believers. Even the faithful need encouragement.

Are you baptized, confirmed, and received Holy Communion? If no to any of these come answer Jesus’ call. Do you know someone who is searching? Do you want to know more about the sacramental life the Church offers? Contact Frank Miller at rcia@stachurchbloomfield.org. We meet after the 8AM mass in the Parish Center.

Come walk along with us.

Thanks to all who made the 2022 STA Parish Picnic a success!

On Sunday, September 18th, the STA Parish Picnic returned for the first time in ten years with huge success!

Delicious burgers, hot dogs, and homemade desserts, all cooked fresh by parishioners. Kids enjoyed a bounce house, arts and crafts, and movement and dance activities led by the one and only Kathy Monacelli of The Little Gym, Wayne NJ. A DJ kept the music going, and attendees got to meet and greet members of the new Pastoral Council. Fantastic weather topped off an extraordinary day!

The picnic was made possible only by the tireless efforts of those who met regularly over many months, planning, cooking, setting up, and advertising the event, and especially Co-Chairs Mary Ann Messina and her husband Jay - and lastly, the over 400 people who attended!

To you we say - Thank you, and we can’t wait for the next one!
